~ The History of WCS Media ~
WCS Media has been providing quality products and services since our founding in 2008. It is our mission to to provide our clients with ways to preserve the special memories of their lives. We believe the best way to achieve this goal is to capture memories through the use of audio and video components, then archive your memories using advanced technology.
WCS Media was created in 2008 and is owned and operated by Steve Wykoff.
Steve grew up in Northwestern Pennsylvania. Since his early childhood, Steve has had an affinity for photography. As a teenager, he won awards for photographs submitted to local competitions. He moved to Buckhannon in 1992, where he began his studies at West Virginia Wesleyan College. Shortly thereafter he received his Degree in Computer Information Management, during which time he learned to diagnose and repair software and hardware issues, create and design web sites, as well as set up and maintain networks.
Having family in West Virginia, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Kentucky has given Steve many opportunities to capture the beautiful scenery and wildlife God has provided in the surrounding areas. He began by taking pictures of landscapes and waterfalls, natural beauty. He has since progressed to photos of animals, insects, plants, and also takes family and individual portraits and photographs of weddings and other special events.
Steve enjoys hiking off the “beaten path” to find less commercialized areas. Never to be left out, Steve utilizes several sized tripods and lenses to take timed photos of which he can be a part. Eager to explore his natural ability, he carries his camera with him everywhere, because “every moment holds it's own beauty”.
In the past, Steve has supported his community through volunteering and working with the Upshur County Emergency Squad and the American Red Cross for many years. Steve has assisted in coaching and fund raising for Upshur County Flag Football, and currently coaches and serves on the Board of Directors for the Upshur County Little League. He is a proud member of the Stonewall Jackson Photography Club, the Buckhannon Elks Lodge, and Buckhannon Upshur Retail Merchants Association (BURMA).
Steve resides in Buckhannon with his wife Robin, two young sons, two dogs and a cat.
